Friday 6 October – New Members Evening & Welcome to Horizon Construction Brightlingsea Skiff Fest competitors. Drinks and nibbles from 7pm. Whether you join us for the whole evening or pop in for a quick drink and to say hello on your way elsewhere, all members and their guests are very welcome.
Saturday 7 October – Dancing pumps at the ready folks… the legendary Contraband are back for one night only during Horizon Construction Brightlingsea Skiff Fest 2017. Bar open from lunchtime, club supper available at 6.30pm (please book in advance via the galley or Kathy at the event registration desk on the day – £5 per head) band starts at 8pm so come on down and join the Skiff Festers for what promises to be an epic night. Free entry. All competitors, members and their guests welcome.
Friday 20 October – Bar open for a relaxed end of week drink and catch up plus the Social Committee is meeting. If you are interested in helping the social committee why not pop in and say hello or speak to Mark Wilby.
Saturday 28 October – Laying Up Supper! Join us for a magical black tie masquerade evening in which we celebrate an outstanding season of sailing at Brightlingsea Sailing Club and honour our prize winners and those who have made special contributions to the club. Click here for more information and to book online or see Tina and Ian at the galley. You can book your tickets individually or put together a table for 10 or 12 guests.
Friday 3 November – Make your own Pizza and Family Movie Night! Bar open from 6pm so come on down and get that dough spinning and those toppings heaped up. There’s always a prize for the most impressive pizza!
Friday 27 November – Family Games Night. Bar open from 6pm. Join us for indoor games including Table Football, Giant Jenga, Giant Hopscotch, Hook-a- Duck, Giant Noughts & Crosses, Giant Hop Scotch and even……. Giant Twister!
Friday 1 December – Christmas Decorations Crafting Night – a night of Blue Peter sticky back plastic fun as we come together to make our seaside and sailing themed Christmas tree decorations for the BSC Entries in the 2017 Brightlingsea Christmas Tree Festive (All Saints Church 9 and 10 Dec). Cadet tree to be titled “BSC Tera-Tree” and Adult tree to be titled “Sailing By”. Mulled wine, festive snacks, tinsel and glitter galore – members of all ages and their guests welcome.
Friday 15 December – Father Christmas visits BSC! Yes folks, it’s true… Santa Clause is coming to town and young and young at heart members and their guests are invited to meet him to deliver their Christmas Lists and help us create the 2017 BSC Tree of Christmas Wishes. We will also be setting up our hand made Christmas Trees following the return from the Christmas Tree Festival (see above) ready for everyone to see them at the Christmas Lunch on Sunday. Mince pies and sausage rolls washed down with plenty of festive cheer and Christmas cocktails.
Sunday 17 December – The one and only Brightlingsea Sailing Club Christmas Lunch cooked by our very own Glynis Sorrell and her elves, followed by David & Mel’s infamous Christmas Carols singalong. This will follow the annual Christmas Cracker race which starts at 11am. Tickets will go on sale via Melissa Smith shortly and remember to book early to avoid disappointment as this event always sells out.
