OK - so this is the biggest one this year. We have 14 new sailors coming to a Taster Session in the morning thinking about joining the Club or doing courses. This will change into about 8 existing members out in the afternoon improving their skills. We need 2-3 helms for the Xenons in the morning and some rescue help. Please let me know if you can support for a couple of hours - Thanks Paul edited by AdminPaul on 30/06/2010

So what a day. We had 12 turn up for the Taster session on Saturday morning. With Force 2-3 and 29 degrees is was a lovely morning to introduce beginners to sailing. Thanks very much to those who helped - the Xenons were helmed by Emma, Lynn and Helen. Lynn/Helen only learnt to sail with us a year ago so its brilliant to see them gaining confidence to take others out. In the afternoon we had 9 out for the Development session. These were all trainees for last year or this season. After a great first hour, the strengthening wind and chop caused two capsizes – thanks to all those who helped out as the sailors got tired. It would appear that the mast-head floats don't stop the boats going turtle in chop!
