Laser SB3 Crew wanted (MMS)

I'm about for pyfleet week and am looking to sail something new. Although I am only 14 I have lots of sailing experience in dinghys so keelboat sailing would teach me lots. I have had success racing the Mirror dinghy when I was younger and have tried sailing asymetric boats like the 29er and really enjoyed it. Let me know if you are interested because I am keen. Martina

420 Nationals - help required

As many of you know we are running the 420 Nationals at the end of August, we are looking for helpers who can help in the Galley for a couple of hours from the Monday to the Friday, if you can offer some help please contact either Theresa or Jayne. We also require the help with putting up two judges who are here for the week, we are putting up the 420 Coach and had offered the judges a bed also however now David is sailing a 420 and his crew will be staying with us to, so beds are a little short! Again if you can help contact me. We are sorted on the water but if anyone would like to help for the week come and see me, I am sure we will be able to find you a job! It was a thumbs up for the Youth and Novice Weekend held at the club with 40 adult novices and cadets attending. Well done to Billy Button and his crew who won the Xenon class, Alex Clark and his crew in the Topaz class, Victoria & Ben in the Handicap class. Also winning prizes were Alan for the most improved adult, George for the biggest person in the smallest boat and a very special well done to Ben and Ellie Stockwell for the cadets who learnt the most over the weekend. A special thank you to all those who helped to make the weekend a success including Chris Bines, Tania, Graham, Nigel, Billy, Dan, John Creese, Mark White, Ian & Barry Newman. Photos to follow. Hi Dave, Did not go to Shoreham I am afraid. We went to see barnsie at Whitstable to sort our one string rig out. No breeze there but the Oyster Festival was on! But no ex Eastenders stars on the beach this time!! Dan

Roll Up! Roll Up!
The Brightlingsea Sailing club regatta will be held onSaturday 31st July 2010.
There will be lots of shore based fun with the club fully "buntting'd" up and stands, competitions etc
On the water the plan is
12.00 - Heats of the Brightlingsea Professional (yes theres real money at stake) Match Race Championship (see Chris Matthews for entry and details). 14.00 - All in handicap race for dinghies, this will be in the old regatta style based in the convines of the creek area with lots of short legs! 15.30 - finals of the Brightlingsea Professional Match Race Championships 17.00 - aproximate time of Prize giving
During the day there will also be the chance to try your hand at sailing a traditional smack, please see Dave Gibbons to arrange your ride.
Hope to see you all at the club for a fun day out.
We still need some volunteers for rescue boats, so if anybody can help out please reply to this post or let me know.
Dave Commodore
