Tickets for the one and only Brightlingsea Sailing Club Christmas Lunch cooked by our very own Glynis Sorrell and her elves, followed by David & Mel's infamous Christmas Carols singalong, are now on sale. As usual the lunch will follow the annual Christmas Cracker race which starts at 11am and lunch will be served asap after 1pm. Tickets cost £15 for adults and £8 for under 10s if booked and paid for before 10th December. If tickets are still available after 10th December they will cost £18 and £10. To book your tickets see Mel at the club or email her with confirmation of the number of tickets and your menu choices (turkey or vegetarian main course and Christmas pudding or chocolate dessert for pudding) on mel155a@hotmail.co.uk Remember to book early to avoid disappointment as this event always sells out. (Please note that because this event is traditionally a sell out, initial priority is given to club members.  If any tickets remain nearer the event they will then be made available for members to bring guests.)
This weekend, 6-8 October, sees the club hosting the inaugural edition of Brightlingsea Skiff Fest supported by Horizon Construction.  With racing for B14s, RS200s, 2000s, 4000s and RS700s plus a host of social activity its going to be a fantastic weekend. Things kick off on Friday 6 October with a combined New Members and Skiff Fest Welcome Reception from 7pm.  Everyone is welcome to join us for drinks to welcome both the competitors and this season's new members. On Saturday registration for Skiff Fest opens at o9.30 and the bacon butties will be on the go. The bar will be open from lunchtime and the galley will be in full swing all weekend including offering a delicious curry or lasagna supper on Saturday evening at 6.30pm (tickets for this can be booked with Kathy Ashworth at the Registration desk). After supper the legendary Contraband are playing from 8pm so dig out those dancing pumps and get ready to shake your booty and show the Skiff Fest visitors some real BSC hospitality.  On Sunday the butties will be on the go one again to help mop up those hangovers and the Skiff Fest prize giving will take place asap after racing. For all the details of Skiff Fest please visit brightlingsea-skiff-fest.sailbrightlingsea.com and we look forward to seeing you in the club over the weekend.

Master of Ceremonies Chris Matthews will then invite you to sit down and enjoy a delicious three course dinner, served from 7pm. During dinner you will be entertained and confounded by the extraordinary skills of magician Wayne Goodman. After dinner we will celebrate another incredible year of activity at Brightlingsea Sailing Club, the prizes will be presented to our Champions, the new Honours Boards will be unveiled, and we will honour those who have made special contributions to the club this year.
