Easter At BSC

Published 14:37 on 16 Apr 2019

With a forecast for glorious sunshine, warm spring temperatures, middle day high tides and great sailing breeze every day, BSC is looking forward to a fantastic Easter Weekend. We've a terrific array of events and activities happening so please come down and join us to make the most of the great weather and our lovely club. Here's a quick overview of what's on when:

On the water we've four days of racing starting with the Bob Watts 120 minute Pursuit Race on Friday 19th April at 2pm. On Saturday 20th at 2pm its Spring Series 5 and the Birthday Stir all in handicap. Easter at BSC wouldn't be Easter without the Easter Eggs 90 minute Pursuit Race which starts at 11am. And on Monday we see out the weekend's racing with the Ivy Stone Handicap starting at 2pm.

For the cadets we have the second Learn to Race (formerly Transition Squad) session on Friday 19th at 11am. We also have the great BSC Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday 21st from 11am with a visit from the Easter Bunny, a great egg hunt trail and fun for all the kids. The price for the hunt is just £1.50 per child. And on Monday 22nd from 1pm kids of all ages (yes adults can join in too) there's a paint your own pottery session with Lucy Weaver of Pink Parrot in the newly refurbished Cadet/Training Room. The price for this session is based on the items you choose to paint so there are options at all levels. For both the Easter Egg Hunt and the Pottery Painting please reserve your places with Letty Heppell on juliette@heppell.net so we can be sure to have sufficient eggs and equipment for everyone.

There's still just time to book to join us for the delicious BSC Easter Lunch at 1pm on Sunday 21st. Tickets are £16 for adults and £8 for children and members are very welcome to bring friends and family. Please book your tickets online by 6pm Wednesday 17th April or email Fiona on commodore@sailbrightlingsea.com.

And finally we have the BSC AGM at 11am on Monday 22nd April followed by the AGM Reception. All members are asked to join us to review the past year and your committees' plans for the coming year, receive our Treasurer's finical report and approve our accounts, approve some rule changes and elect our new officers and committee members. The bar will be open from noon until 6pm each day with rolls and snacks available from the bar.

Here's to a great weekend and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the club and on the water.
