Optimist Spring Championship 2020

The Club is delighted to have been asked to host the 150+ boat Optimist Spring Championship on the weekend of 14 and 15 March 2020. This will be a very busy weekend for the club and we look forward to an exciting and hugely competitive event.

Naturally an event of this size requires a large number of volunteers to make it happen and any members who can spare some time to assist over the weekend are asked to urgently log into the Members Portal and go to the Duty Roster (top of nav bar on right side of the page) where you will find the various duties we need your help to fill. The social schedule for the weekend will be as follows:

Friday 13 March

Club open to welcome arriving teams from lunchtime onwards. The galley will be offering rolls, snacks and light meals and the bar will be open from 6pm.

Saturday 14 March

Galley will be open from 7.30am for breakfast and will remain open throughout the day offering a range of snacks and hot beverages. There will be a pasta meal for all competitors on arrival back ashore after racing (included in the entry fee). On Saturday evening there will be a two course Bangers & Mash Club Supper (vegetarian option available) from 18.30 which must be booked in advance and for which tickets cost £7.50 for adults and £5 for children under 10.

Sunday 15 March

Galley will be open from 7.30am for breakfast and will remain open throughout the day offering a range of snacks and hot beverages. There will be a pasta meal for all competitors on arrival back ashore after racing (included in the entry fee).
