A great weekend of sailing, camaraderie and partying was had by all during Cat Fest 2018. The event incorporated the National Championships of the F18, Nacra 15, Tornado and Spitfire Classes as well a traveller event for the Shearwaters and Slow and Fast handicap fleets. BSC hosted the 420 National Championship over the bank holiday weekend with the club welcoming 33 teams from the UK, France, Ireland and the USA for four days of tough and highly competitive racing. Dave Charlton headed up the on the water team and despite the vagaries of the weather they are able to deliver ten races over the four days. Many congratulations to Mike Bees and Pete Nicholson on becoming Gul B14 National Champions 2018 after a hard fought competition in Paignton. The opening two days of the three day regatta were frustratingly light, but the final day produced a moderate breeze at last and the championship went out in style with Mike and Pete becoming the latest sailors to add their names to the B14 Nationals Trophy and the BSC Honours Board.
