  • BSC Online AGM 28 March 2021 - Updated

    UPDATED 14 MARCH 2021 - Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic the 2021 BSC AGM will be held as an online meeting using Zoom. For those who are not able to attend it is possible to submit online votes in advance and postal voting will be available to those who do not have internet access. The 2021 BSC AGM will take place on Sunday 28 March starting at 10.30am

  • BSC Mirror Fleet Newsletter - November 2020

    What a resourceful and energetic club we have. Since writing in June, when it was unclear what would be possible, the web-cam has been ever more alive with activity, both sailing and racing. On at least ten occasions our younger sailors were to be seen zipping around triangular practice courses in everything from Oppies upward, and I could see their ability and confidence growing even from the web-cam!

    Sailing Cancelled For Remainder Of 2020

    After discussion at its meeting on Wednesday 18 November the General Committee made the decision that no further organised sailing or racing will take place at the club this year. It was felt that the combination of the uncertainty regarding Covid-19 restrictions going forwards, the understandable difficulty in getting volunteers to cover duties at this time, the need to keep members safe while the Covid-19 risk in the area is heightened, and the desire

    We have a very high likelihood of flood water topping the promenade and getting into the back of the club, and possibly into the front as well just after lunch today (Thur 19 Nov) with a 0.9m surge predicted on top of a 5.2m tide, giving a 6.1m tide level.     Tera Eastern Training Weekend Boosts BSC Cadets Race Skills

    The weekend of 10 and 11 October saw 7 BSC cadets joined 9 others from the Eastern Region in challenging conditions in the first of three Winter Training Weekends scheduled at BSC. "Tereastas" is the Eastern Region of the RS Tera Class Association, run by BSC's own Emma McTiernan and Stephen Johnson.   • Covid-19 Statement - 4 November 2020 - All Club Activities Cancelled Until 2 December

    In response to the England-wide lockdown which commences at 00.01 on Thursday 5 November, Brightlingsea Harbour Commission has confirmed that whilst the lockdown is in effect the harbour will be closed for all leisure use. Only commercial operators and emergency access will be permitted and the Harbour will be running on a reduced staff. The harbour's closure means that sadly we will not be able to hold races 3, 4, 5 or 6
