Road Trailers & Unseaworthy Boats In The Dinghy Park

Published 09:50 on 24 Feb 2018

With the season fast approaching we are preparing the dinghy parks ready for the boats to return at the end of March. This has highlighted that we have a number of unidentified and potentially abandoned trailers in the boat park and also a couple of boats that are very neglected and unseaworthy. Please may we remind members that:

1. With the exception of those Cat Trailers which have formally allocated and paid for spaces, trailers may not be left in the dinghy park unless they are in your allocated boat park space/under your boat. The boat park is now so full we simply don't have room for loose trailers and they must be removed.

2. All trailers should be clearly marked with the owners name and corresponding boat's details - i.e. Don Johnson - GP14 8890 Bluebell - so that we can contact the owner if we need to.

3. As with boats left in the dinghy park without permission/payment, we will apply the Club/RYAs abandoned boats/trailers policy to trailers as well. If we can identify who owns the trailer we will attempt to contact you to advise that you need to remove it before we start proceedings to dispose of it. Any trailers we cannot identify will simply be disposed of.

If your trailer is currently in the boat park and not parked under your boat and in your allocated space please remove it forthwith or it will be disposed of to make space for the incoming boats at the end of March.

We would also remind everyone that boats which are unseaworthy (other than temporarily while repairs are being made) are not entitled to a space in the dinghy park. With the demand for spaces now starting to outstrip the places available we may be forced to start implementing this policy more rigorously.
