Introducing Your New General Committee

At the BSC AGM held on Easter Monday your new Flag Officers and General Committee were elected. Having stood down after completing her two years as Commodore, Fiona Brown was invited to take the honorary role of President. Unfortunately no nominations were received for the role of Commodore and so this post remains vacant and we keenly encourage anyone who feels able to take on the role to step forward.

Vice Commodore Sailing Simon Redfearn and Vice Commodore Entertainment Mark Wilby have both stood for a second year so continue in these roles and in the absence of a Commodore become our senior ranking officers. We did not receive any nominations for Vice Commodore House or for the potential fourth Vice Commodore so these positions remain unfilled and volunteers are for them are also keenly encouraged to step forward.

David Gibbons volunteered to stand once again as our Treasurer and continues in post as does our Honorary General Secretary Rose Winship.

Alongside these Officer and Secretary Roles the following were elected as members of the General Committee:

Kathy Ashworth - also Honorary Subscriptions Secretary
Alice Davies - also Chair of the Bar, Premises and Training Committees
Jane Somerville - also Honorary Social Secretary
James Stacey - also Bosun
Craig Bond - also Sailing School Principal and Training Coordinator
Barrie Winship - also oversees boat park and general maintenance
Duncan Nicholson - also member of our Premises Committee
Armin Lange - also Regatta Coordinator

Alongside the vacant Commodore and Vice Commodore positions we also still have space on the General Committee for additional members, so if you feel you could support the club as part of our strategic planning and management team please speak to either Simon, Mark or Fiona.
