RIP Past Commodore Mike Bowen

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of BSC Past Commodore Mike Bowen, who led the club from 1985-86. Mike will be fondly remembered by members from that era as a bubbly character, always with a smile on his face, a warm welcome and a quick wit. He came from the cruising side of the club, but ensured that he represented the entire membership, throwing himself into whatever tasks needed doing.

Mike's funeral will be held at Oakfield Wood Wrabness, at 2pm on Tuesday 3rd November, it will be outside at the graveside, and he will be buried next to his beloved wife Maureen. Following the service mourners are invited to join the family at The Crown in Manningtree. Mike was always a dapper dresser and the family asks guests to wear smart but happy clothing. The ceremony is outdoors in a wooded area so please wear appropriate footwear - depending on weather boots may be appropriate for the service with a change of shoes for the wake.
