Working Parties Doing A Sterling Job - All Hands On Deck For Final Push 18 March
Published 17:13 on 11 Mar 2018
Thank you so much to everyone who turned out for today's work party (Sunday 11th March). We got masses done!
Two written off boats have been cut up ready to take away (thanks Oz Aldridge, Shaun Seear and Jim Stewart), the Committee Boat is cleaner that its been in years (thanks Jo Harman and John Berrisford with help from Dave Charlton), more jobs were done in the dinghy park (Barrie Winship and Brian Greenaway), the car park hedges have been cut (David & James Herbert - aged 5!), the new blinds have been fitted, the trophies polished and put back into the trophy cabinet and the Pyefleet Tiller hung on the wall upstairs (thanks Greg and Kay Thompson), all the clubs flags have been checked, tidied and inventoried (thanks Sally and Evie Harman - aged just 1 and your youngest helper so far! - and Alice Davies) and all the historic pictures have been cleaned and got ready to rehang (Brian Greenaway again). The club is looking really great ready for its first visitors this week. Oh and the whole thing was fuelled by delicious chocolate cake and bakewell tart courtesy of the amazing Nicki Curtis.
At next weekend's working party we need to get the Race Hut back up and running, do more jobs on the committee boat, return the equipment to the upstairs office that had to be removed to lay the new carpet and make sure all the RIBs and gear are ready to go for the start of the season the following weekend. We need all hands on deck so please join us from 10.30am on Sunday 18 March.
