Coffee Morning Fundraising Hits £1000 After Second Event

First introduced in 2024, our BSC Fundraising Coffee Mornings have proven to be a huge success. In 2024 we raised £2,000, and our goal for this year is to raise at least £2,500 towards a new club boat to be used for cadet and training activities. Saturday 7 June saw the second coffee morning of 2025 (our first was on Easter Sunday) and we are delighted to announce that between these first two events we have already raised just over £1000!
The format for these events is simple. Volunteer members bake cakes and savouries, donate raffle prizes and man the galley, and members bring their friends and family along to enjoy delicious cafetière coffee and speciality teas with their cakes and take part in the raffle and other fundraising activities. It really is a by the members for the members effort and we're hugely grateful to everyone who gets involved.
If you like to bake and would be happy to make something for one of our future events the 'Cake Club Gang' will welcome you with open arms. If you've got any nice bits and pieces that would be suitable for the raffle please donate them. If you'd like to join the galley service and fundraising team we're a friendly bunch and would love to have you. And even if you are busy and haven't got much spare time just come on down, enjoy a cake and coffee with lovely people, or grab a takeaway box of deliciousness to go. Every little contribution helps! Our programme for the remainder of 2025 is as follows and we hope to see you there whenever you are free:
Saturday 5 July - 10.30am - this event will run alongside one of our Awesome Activities Days so we'll have some special treats for the kids alongside our usual favourites.
Saturday 6 September - 10am - the Woolvert Tankard and Cadet Race 5 will start at 11am so lots to watch on the water while you enjoy your refreshments.
Sunday 5 October - 10am - again there will be club racing starting at 11am
Sunday 23 November - 10am - our special festive fundraiser and christmas market
Thursday 27 November - 7pm - join us for a special Christmas Wreath making session with Donna of Flo's Flowers.
