Regatta Weekend Activities at BSC

We have a brilliant programme of events for you over the Brightlingsea Regatta Weekend of 20 and 21 July. The full programme can be found at www.brightlingsearegatta.com/programme and here are the highlights of what's happening at the club.

Friday 19 July
7pm - Bar Open
7.30pm - Porridge & Pens Charity Pottery Painting Evening with Pink Parrot - members are all welcome to attend this event and if you would like to take part in the pottery painting tickets are available from Little Boat Gifts in New Street or by calling Lucy Weaver on 07738 258131
Saturday 20 July (High Tide 15.13)
9.30am - Bacon Butties on the Beach - Messers White & Wilby will be manning the BBQ to bring you a yummy alfresco breakfast. Our own Tracey King will be manning her fabulous Beach Box Cafe so you can grab a delicious proper coffee, speciality tea or juice to go with that butty.
10am - Stalls and Arts & Crafts Trail opens. We have some brilliant stalls in the car park and by the boat park, plus galleries by some amazing artists in the Training/Cadet Room and the first Floor Estuary Lounge.
11am - Bar Open and the Candy Floss and Popcorn Stand (run by our fabulous cadets) opens
Noon until 4.30pm - Try Sailing and Powerboating - free session for all so bring your friends and family down if they fancy having a go at sailing or a trip in a RIB.
Noon until mid evening - the BBQ team will be switching from Bacon to Burgers and Sausages to keep you going through the afternoon and evening and if you fancy something a bit different why not try some of the amazing Syrian food on offer from the White Gardenia stall in the car park.
1pm - Registration for the Craft Your Raft Race Opens (register at the St Helena Hospice stand near the start hut)
1.30pm - Registration for the Rotary Crabbing Competition Opens (register at the yellow Rotary stand near the start hut) - open to kids of all ages
2pm - come and see the extraordinary spectacle of the CLIP experimental youth orchestra performing in the sea off the beach!
2pm - Start of the Rotary Crabbing Competition - who ever catches the most crabs wins!
2pm - Children' activities and games open including the bouncy castle!
2.30pm - Start of the Craft Your Raft Race in aid of St Helena Hospice. Will the BSC Holy Cows get the upper hand on the BSC Cadets this year or will those cunning cadets once again reign supreme? Will an outside team trounce the lot of them?
5pm - As we slide into the evening we get our Pre-Fireworks Beach Party underway with a performance by the always fabulous Brightlights Youth Theatre Group, followed by chill out tunes from our resident regatta DJ and the sun goes down.
9pm - A spectacular Fire Show to whet your appetite for the big display to come
9.30pm - Regatta Fireworks - fired from Point Clear BSC will have the best view in the house!
Sunday 21 July (High Tide 1546)
9.30am - Bacon Butties on the Beach and yummy drinks from the Beach Box Cafe
10am - Popcorn and Candy Floss Stall Opens
11am - Bar Opens
11.30am - Registration for the Rotary Sand Castle Building Competition Opens (register at the yellow Rotary stand near the start hut) - open to kids of all ages
Noon - Childrens' activities and games open including bouncy castle!
Noon - Afternoon Beach Party kicks off and BBQ switches from Bacon to Burgers and Sausages
Noon - Rotary Sandcastle Competition on the BSC Beach
1pm - Cadet Demonstration Sailing
2pm - Brightlingsea Fire Engine on display in the car park
2pm - Start of the BSC Regatta Race from the club line
2.30pm - Start of the Gig Racing from the club line
6pm - Bar closes
