RS Tera Race Day-
Published 17:36 on 17 Jun 2019
The sailing club welcomed 37 Rs Tera`s for training on Saturday and for racing on Sunday. The event was seen as a training event for the Nationals at the club on August 24th.
Saturday was a great training day with the breeze picking up throughout the day. Sunday was to say the least a challenge for all. The wind was around 20knots when racing started but picked up again to near 30 knots at times. The fleet were split into two with the most able racing under Championship conditions whilst the younger ones had further practise in the creek. All the sailors seemed to enjoy their " Brightlingsea experience" and were disappointed when racing was cancelled and they could not go out for more. The attitude of the kids involved was a joy to see. They were both inspiring and undaunted by the conditions.
The club welcomed a lot of positive feedback from our guests and all those involved.
Special thanks go to Emma Mctiernan for organising everything, Warren Tudor and Graham Eeles. And to all those involved with the day.
Also thanks to all the Club members who pitched in with help to get everyone ashore safely.
Well done to Brett Tudor for 2nd in the Pro fleet, but a big well done to all those who got out there.
