Volunteering for Race Duties

Published 11:21 on 7 Jun 2019

I would like to clarify the situation with regard to volunteering for Rescue Duties and OOD. It is possible that the terminology used in this year`s instructions to members may have been misunderstood.

Racing members to do 4 duties on the water or in the race office inclusive of Opens.

Racing Cadets (16-18) to do 2 duties on the water or in the race office.

The Sailing Committee would like to clarify that if you race at the club your 4 duties must be on racing days. These can include Open events and normal club races but do not include Tuesday and Friday club events or other non-racing activities. We are delighted that members volunteer to support these non-racing activities and encourage you to do so, but they are in addition to the basic 4 race duties required by the club sailing instructions.

If you have any queries regarding duties please email dutyman@sailbrightlingsea.com.
