Covid-19 Keep Your Distance & Keep Left On The Ramp

It's wonderful that we are now able to allow independent sailing from the club but please don't forget that you can still only sail in a dinghy solo or with members of your own household and you still need to keep 2m apart from others you do not live with at all times. We do understand how very difficult this is, particularly with the kids, and that we are all learning how to distance as it doesn't come naturally to any of us, but please do all you can to observe the rules.

One important update this week is that we are now asking you to keep well to the left on the ramp if you are passing another boat. The concrete ramp plus gravel sides are just wide enough to allow 2m between people passing provided they stay as far left as they can.

When landing or launching please do not all do so together. We appreciate single handers need to double up to fetch trollies, but please only come in two at a time and remain separated from each other, and double handers should come and go one at a time.

And please don't stop to chat on the ramp or by the club and entrance to the boat park as it causes delays and frustrations.

We know its hard to change the habits of a lifetime and we are all struggling with this, but we are going to be stuck with social distancing for some time to come and the better we get at it the lower the chances of a second wave and another lockdown.

Finally please don't forget that we are currently unable to provide patrol boat cover and so you can only sail on your own recognisance. Please read our Safety Advice for Independent Sailing before you go afloat and only sail if you are sure you can safely do so without outside assistance.
