BSC AGM Short Report

The 2025 BCS AGM was held on Easter Monday at 11am in the clubhouse and proved to be a short but productive and well attended meeting.

Reports were received from the Sailing and House Committees, which were both able to present good news from 2024 with greater engagement in regular club activities both afloat and ashore, plus good open meeting attendances, a very successful Solo National Championship and the introduction of several new initiatives to encourage greater member participation, such as the Awesome Activities Days and the Fundraising Coffee Mornings.

The Treasurer's Financial Report also carried good news as, after a more difficult 2024, club income in all areas (sailing, bar/galley and training) was up again, costs were down and the bank account was returning to the levels of surplus that ensure financial security for the club. Treasurer Julie Eeles particularly highlighted the role of member volunteers in making this possible and encouraged all members to help out in what ever way they can, ashore or afloat, to keep our finances going in a positive direction.

Our 2025 Club Officers and General Committee Members were elected and are:

Commodore - Ben Clegg
Vice Commodores Sailing - Sarah Bines & Paul Aldridge
Vice Commodore House - Jane Somerville
Honorary Treasurer - Julie Eeles
Honorary General Secretary - Philip Rust
Honorary Membership Secretary - Kathy Ashworth
Cadet Captain and General Committee - Craig Bond
General Committee - Ed Gibbons
General Committee - Duncan Nicholson
General Committee - Shaun Seear
Bosun - Alec Mumford

Barry Newman and Richard Goldklang were appointed Accounts Examiners for the coming year and the Commodore thanked outgoing Accounts Examiner Alan Hicks for his many years in the role.

The Club Trustees were confirmed as Roger Robertson, Barry Newman, Alan Hicks and Paul Aldridge.
