RIP Myrna Ekeroth

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of BSC Member Myrna Ekeroth on Wednesday 13 March 2024, following a short period of illness with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. Myrna and her husband Lars had been active members of the club for some years and enjoyed dinghy cruising, kayaking and participating in social events. They were also a familiar sight walking their dog Polly along the Promenade, stopping to chat along the way. A past Rear Commodore House of Wivenhoe Sailing Club, Myrna was always happy to pitch in and help in the galley or for events whenever she was asked, and her practical down to earthy approach and fun demeanour made her a popular helper and member. Myrna has chosen not to have a traditional funeral, but her family and close friends will celebrate her life privately. Myrna will be much missed by us all and our thoughts and prayers are with Lars and their family and friends as this most difficult time.
