A Social Summer Ahead At BSC

As summer finally begins to show her face and the school holidays approach, here is a quick update on what's happening socially at BSC in July and August:
Fundraising Coffee Morning No 3
On Saturday 20 July we have Fundraising Coffee Morning No 3. We've got a special treat for this one as Letty Heppell is going to be running a special Beach School session for all ages where you can find out some fascinating things about our beach and creek environment.
The Galley will be open from 10:30 serving freshly brewed coffee and teas plus scrumptious home made cakes and savouries. We will have a raffle and our usual book stall plus at 11:00 there is the start of the annual Round The Islands Race to enjoy. Beach School will get underway shortly after the race starts.
If anyone would be able to donate cakes or savouries, raffle prizes or books, or can spare a bit of time to help in the galley please contact Fiona on fiona.brown@fionabrown.com.
These events are open to all members and their guests so please spread the word and do bring your friends to enjoy a fun morning with the best view in town and help us raise money for some special club projects (of which more soon). We've already raised over £700 and hope to break the £1,000 mark this week!
Coffee Mornings will take a break in August but we'll be back again on 21 September so put that date in your diaries too.
The BSC Big Olympics Beach Party
We're getting the summer holiday's off to a great start with our BSC Big Olympics Beach Party on Friday 26 July. With the Olympic Open Ceremony showing on the TV, music, food, drink and Pétanque on the beach, join us to our support for the British Sailing Team and celebrate the start of the 2024 Paris Olympics..
The event is open to all members and their guests. No tickets needed, just turn up on the night, grab a drink and a gourmet burger with a French twist, and enjoy.
Note - there is no sailing for this Friday event as the tide is out.

Pyefleet Week 2024 - Party On Down!
Pyefleet Week is almost here, kicking off with Registration and the Carole Cruickshank Pursuit Race on Saturday 3 August, and with racing running from Sunday 4 to Friday 9 August. As always there will be a full programme of shoreside social activities that all members and their guests are invited to participate in.
Starting on Sunday 4 August, breakfast will be served from 9:00 to 10:00 daily excluding Wednesday, the bar will be open from 10:00 to midnight, the legendary Pyefleet Week Lunch Table will be open from 12:30 to 14:00 and there will be club suppers from 18:00 each evening (17:30 on Friday).
Whether you are racing or not you are also warmly invited to join us for the Pyefleet Week evening club suppers and social events, full details of which (including a downloadable programme) are available from www.pyefleetweek.com
